WELCOME TO THE
COSHOCTON SUNFLOWER FESTIVAL
Where: This exemplary festival is held at Coshocton KOA Campground located at 24846 County Road 10, Coshocton OH, 43812.
Have you ever visited a sunflower field or attended a Sunflower Festival? If not, then you must attend one! Trust me, it’s a lot of fun. Before I went, I wondered, “What could be so exciting about sunflower fields?” But as you read on and see the pictures, you’ll get all the answers.
Dates, Tickets, and Admission:
‘Coshocton Sunflower festival’ is roughly an hour and a half east of Columbus. The festival typically starts in August and the full bloom season is around mid-month. However, the exact dates depend on the growing conditions of the crop. You must purchase an online ticket well in advance as they get sold out at the drop of
a hat to get an entry!
The Coshocton Sunflower Festival offers a range of ticket prices depending on the day and activities. The parking is free. Arrive within 15 minutes of your reserved time slot and once you do, you can either hop on the wagon or choose to walk on the marked pathway for roughly ¼ of a mile up to the field.
Every visitor with a valid ticket gets a free hayride to the field, access to the food trucks, beer garden, live music, kids park, and most of all the mesmerizing sunflower field for as long as the gates are open. There’s more, you also get to cut a sunflower of your choice, “A Sunflower for Every Soul”, from “The Wilds” or “Sea of Yellow” fields to take back home.
Photo Props
And if you’re allured to take more than one, you can purchase ‘Bundle of Joy’ – a bundle of 6 or 12 sunflowers available for additional purchase on the field. If you want to clip a bucket full of them yourself, go for ‘Bucket o’ Sunshine’ while purchasing the tickets and have a great time picking the best ones for your home.
However, some like me just don’t seem to have enough of the beauty in one day. So if you want to visit multiple times, you can purchase the season pass online.
Sunflower Maze Experience:
When I visited the Sunflower Festival, I was so overwhelmed at the sight of an entire sea of sunflowers – the beauty was unanticipated! We saw multiple antique photo props all around and clicked a lot of pictures. You can even arrange a photoshoot at the field without any additional fees or reservations.
It was great to see a variety of food trucks because then we could spend more time at the field without getting hungry. It felt like daytime camping. We also came across open grassy areas where people had spread their picnic blankets and were enjoying their own spaces to hang out.
The fields also have RV sites, lodging, and tent sites so you can have a nice day out with your friends or family.
All in all, this festival is worth a visit! If you’re in Columbus or traveling nearby during August, I highly recommend you to check on the festival dates and squeeze in a day to visit this Sunflower Festival.
Walking through the blooming sunflower fields will fill you up with sunshine and you’ll feel cheerful like never before! You can also visit the beautiful Coshocton County which is known for its wine trails, antique shops, unique farm brewery, Monticello III horse-drawn canal boat ride, and the Historic Roscoe Village to name a few. It is the perfect destination for any kind of getaway, reunion, and event.
