Woodstock is a small, charming village in the Northeast of Vermont, New England. It is famously one of the most picturesque country sides in New England. Even though it is a small village, Woodstock is a quintessential travel destination. Here, you’ll find joy and contentment in doing simple things like walking around exploring and snapping pictures, visiting farms, checking out breweries, meandering brooks, hiking, etc. – and trust me, that’s what makes travelers love Woodstock.
To get to this beautiful town, you can take a flight to Lebanon Airport located about 15miles to the east in New Hampshire. You can also board a bus by Dartmouth Coach which operates from Boston South Station to Lebanon every 4 hours. Of course, you can drive or take a road trip too, as we did.
Once you arrive in Woodstock Vermont, here are some of the top things to do:
1. Visit photographers’ favorite spot: Jenne Farm
Don’t forget to visit Jenne Farm, it is famed as New England’s most photographed farm! Jenne Farm is in central Vermont, about a 15 minutes drive south of Woodstock on Route 106. Although its landscape is a beautiful sight year-round, it is especially stunning in fall.
The farm has made its appearance in several magazines, calendars, commercials, and even films! So it’s worthy to head up to this place, see the beauty in person, and click a few pictures because you don’t see splendid farms like this one that often.
Just beware that this aesthetic farm is private, so one needs to be respectful of the residents around. Also, there’s no public parking area at the site as it’s a private property. So parking could be a problem if you’re visiting early morning especially on the holiday weekends.

2. Enjoy the view of Quechee Gorge
This spectacular attraction is located along U.S. Route 4 and is the deepest gorge in Vermont. It can be viewed from the Route 4 Bridge as well as from the trails on the sides of the gorge. You can even take your dog along on the hiking and walking trails.
The vast, breath-taking view of the gorge and Ottauquechee River flowing down below makes this place an amazing viewpoint and photography spot. The river is also a popular spot for kayaking. There’s also a gift shop that has a lovely souvenir collection for sale. If you’re a natural beauty buff, don’t forget to check Quechee Gorge off the list.

3. Cheese and maple syrup tasting at Sugarbush Farm
It’s a huge family farm located outside the historic Woodstock and is popular for various kinds of cheese and pure maple syrup samples that are offered to the visitors. You can also buy locally made jams, spreads, and other condiments either from the farm store directly or online. Admission to the farm is free and you can even enjoy a self-tour around the place.
You can closely have a look at the real-time production process and meet and talk with the humble family that’s been into this business for ages and kindly hosts all its guests. You can also walk around on the nature trail, lay down a picnic arrangement, and pet the farm animals if you’re visiting in summer. The farm also has a chapel where you can spend a quiet, reflective time.
